Done

There is definitely a lot more to my recovery than I have written here. There has been plenty of discovery and embarrassment. Some of my earlier writing confesses a hint of schizotypal thinking. It took a terrible bout of nihilism to get everything out of my system and come to terms with myself and everything. I have not begun to write my thoughts and experiences from this, but this is not the proper forum for them. I am long finished using an exmormon platform to express my ideas.

I'm closing off many posts that are a bit "out there", too personal, or that are potentially incriminating. I may edit and reopen some, but probably few.

And in case you're wondering where I stand now. I celebrate, praise, and revel in the progress of science, free thought, and of mankind's graduation from religion. In short, I am Atheist.

Signing off,
Mason

Keepin' it real

And I almost forgot. Thanks to everyone in the exmormon community, especially you bloggers.

It would be easier to be an Athiest. No responsibiltiy No accountability. You really believe your choices don't matter. Interesting.

If you watch any of these videos, watch at least the first two (or even just the first one).

As far as your comment is concerned, I see in it a perfect regurgitation of constricted religious identification—one that I might have heartlessly spat when I believed in the so-called plan/gospel. I admire your zeal, but I think it is poorly invested.

You have selected to promulgate flimsy, yet damaging accusations. You claim that atheism is easy, but contrary to what most religions (including yours) teach, it is the sincere search for truth that moves us beyond religion. This is not an easy threshold for the human psyche to cross. I hope you consider this—the effect you desire will not occur if you continue to heedlessly strike from an aspect of misinformation; your actions will continue to be unpurposed. It takes a great deal of courage, cognizance, and risk to shift one’s paradigm—to be willing to accept the truth as it is while facing the reality that the truth may not be what one wants it to be.

You brazenly allege that there is no responsibility, no accountability, and, worst of all, that choices do not matter beyond religion. Where do I begin!? How many misuses of narrow identification (religious or otherwise) do I have to put on display? Would the religion you speak for seek to patronize and, dare I say, dehumanize the most genuine and earnest individuals among us? How many ways do I have to demonstrate that my choices have never mattered more and that my appreciation for life has never been greater?
